Rome public libraries

BiblioTu is the library portal for the City of Rome’s Library Services

Rome has 39 libraries. Each library provides free and open access to books and other tools for the advancement of knowledge that new technologies have created.
The libraries organise numerous activities: ranging from book presentations to language courses, from film screenings to animated readings or book readings for children, from creativity workgroups to conferences.
To use the Rome’s library services you need only to subscribe to the service.

BiblioTu services create a friendly, pleasant and constructive dialogue between the libraries and their patrons.

  • Check the map and the full list of the City of Rome’s libraries to find one close to you. Joining one library provides access to all libraries for one year. Registration can be done both online and at one of the 39 libraries in the city of Rome’s library system.

By registering with BiblioTu, you can login and use your own personal space with a wide range of online services dedicated to you.

  • Go to BiblioTu and register. You can obtain either a BiblioPass or a Bibliocard, which will provide additional services and benefits. Bibliocard gives you access to E-Books and other digital resources as well as a range of offers and promotions available in the City. In the libraries, Bibliocard provides access to internet and Wi-Fi. BiblioTu also has a space dedicated to children of all ages. If you are under 15, you can have a card dedicated to you: the Youngcard.

With the PIM (Prestito Interbibliotecario Metropolitano – Metropolitan Interlibrary Loan) service you can request a loan online and withdraw the item requested at a library of your choice.

In BiblioTu, you can subscribe to the library service newsletter and you will be kept up to date on news and events.
